Educators & Community Support

Educators are a key partner in the work for daily outdoor learning. While this set of resources is primarily designed for classroom teachers, they were designed with input from the larger collective, and are available to anyone who wants to support kids in outdoor spaces.

The New Mexico Outdoor Classrooms Framework

The framework is a step-by-step guide for getting started to sustaining daily outdoor learning in your schools context. It was co-created with our Outdoor Education Leadership Program Cohort in 2024. Click on any of the boxes below to see an overview, detailed document, slide deck, and recording of a previous workshop on that topic.

1. Getting Comfortable in The Outdoors
2. Student Accessibility & Inclusivity
3. Using Outdoor Spaces for Learning
4. Designing an Outdoor Space
5. Advocacy & Action for Outdoor Learning
6. Resources & Community Connections
