The 2026 New Mexico Outdoor Learning Convening was a statewide gathering of educators, partners, and community leaders working together to normalize daily outdoor learning for all New Mexico learners.
How do we make outdoor learning easy, supported, and sustainable for every teacher at every school?
We talked through solutions and shared our collective vision with partners with the goal of creating communities of practice to continue the work.
What if outdoor learning wasn’t the exception—but the expectation?
We wanted to bring together educators, school leaders, community partners, policymakers, and advocates from across New Mexico for a statewide convening focused on one big question:
How do we make outdoor learning easy, supported, and sustainable for every teacher at every school?
Together, we engaged in honest conversations and collaborative action around:

This convening was about more than inspiration.

A movement continues.
